Santa Teresa’s first HomeBuild NT recipients turning house into a home

Six months after moving into their newly constructed home in Santa Teresa, Marcus and Kellie say their family is thriving in the spacious environment.

The three bedroom home was built under the HomeBuild NT program, as part of the $1.1 billion remote housing investment package, Our Community. Our Future. Our Home.

“It’s made a huge difference to our family having living space, our two young girls can have some freedom and we can have family over without feeling cramped,” Kellie said.

“We are all just happy … the girls are really excited, they love having their own room and space to play,” she said.

“Having an outside veranda, they can ride their bikes and you don’t have to check on them all the time, it’s great,” she said.

Marcus and Kellie have wasted no time making their residence feel like a home, establishing a garden and green lawn outside.

“Hopefully this is a step forward for our community at Santa Teresa and there’s many more houses to come,” she said.
