Local Authority seal roads in Minyerri
The Local Authority in Minyerri have reached a great outcome for the community, having commenced the sealing of internal roads.
Local Government Regional Manager (Big Rivers Region) Amanda Haigh was excited when she saw them for the first time on her visit to community last week.
“It was a great surprise.
I have been driving on these dirt roads for some time now so you really see the difference it makes,” Amanda said.
“Local residents or people visiting for work like myself can drive through the community better, and it also reduces dust,” she said.
Thanks to the Local Authority Project Funding (LAPF) received from the Department of Local Government, Housing and Community Development, $377 400 was contributed to this community project.
This was in collaboration with the Regional Roads Committee which include members from the department, the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics and Roper Gulf Regional Council.
