Contractor: stimulus a “worthy effort” to boost NT economy

NT Plumbing Maintenance Service owner Pat Whitehead said the $100 million public housing stimulus program has been making a worthy effort in boosting the current state of the economy.

His business recently completed works at the Beagle Street public housing complex under the program.

As part of this, all five units in the complex have had new solar hot water systems installed and other upgrades completed including new line guttering, down pipes and external painting. Two of these units have also received a new metal roof replacement.

Pat said the stimulus program has added value to his business.

“We have been able to price fairly and to make a fair gross profit on our jobs and this allows us to continue to employ and invest in the business,” Pat said.

“The (department) project management staff on the ground do a great job and very easy to work with,” he said.

“Well done to all involved and thanks from NT Plumbing Maintenance Service for the support we’ve received.”
