Draft Local Government Bill consultation

The draft Local Government Bill aims to strengthen the Local Government Act 2008 in order to provide clarity on local government processes and assist councils and local authorities with their work.

While the Act has developed over recent years to accommodate for changes in the sector, key stakeholders have identified areas where the legislation could be strengthened to better work for the benefit of Territorians, councils and local authorities.
